NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY AND CULTURE

Northstar Contracting was awarded as part of the team constructing the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC). The 350,000 sq. ft. museum will be devoted exclusively to the documentation of African-American life, art, history and culture with collections covering slavery, post-Civil War reconstruction, the Harlem Renaissance and the civil rights movement. Northstar will be constructing and installing the bronze and glass-panel facade, known as the Corona. The Corona will hang from the top of the museum with no intermediate support.
